With a love

With a love

A Poem by Jack...
"

Love in the distance

"

With a love

By Jack Ivey

O’er the wisdom of valleys and fields all aglow

Neath a sky ever wanting and true

To breathe of this earth O’ its wonderful flowers

As my thoughts seem to whisper of you

While the rush of the wind dances sweet on my brow

In an offer of love which I feel

Standing high on a hill overlooking the world

Every moment before me so real

So I’m wondering if as a new day does dawn

Silent moments that tend to relieve

Will your heart seek the future right here in my arms

Is this something your dreams do perceive

Mounted distances play as the rain it does pour

And the sadness of missing now reigns

Would you take me, this man now in need of your charms

O’ to love me eternal again

With a stone I do toss in directions I’ve known

But to follow the arc of descent

Call my name and I’ll run to your tenderness touch

Every ounce of my energy spent

I may crawl on my knees and my hands in the mud

Scale a mountain now touching the sky

Swim an ocean until my horizons have come

Swallow tears my exhaustion has cried

Still to harbor the strength that will keep me in stride

I shall fly like the wings of a dove

Never ending this journey I know in my heart

Shall reward me with your tender love

For the dreams that I carry and wear in my heart

In a focus unwavering true

Brings the joy that I long every step, every mile

With a love that I promise so true

Oh this piece is a swooner. Stanza'a 5-6 and 7. I'm telling you every woman who read that paused and went "sigh" before she moved on. You are the lady slayer with the words my man.

Ha, no Quinn I have a different one in mind. Thanks.
I've been married forever (foorrrreeeeevvvveeeer.... lol) so... this may sound jaded... are there really guys out there today, that will move heaven and earth for love? What I witness tells me otherwise... but your words sing a soft melody of truth that reaches the hearts of women searching for just that type of connection.

You have a heart of gold, Jack - that shines through your writing always!

The journey we must make to the arms of love can be a difficult one. Between those towering mountains and raging seas, few reach that destination unharmed. But it is sooo worth it.

This leaves me feeling breathless. I like the feelings of both triumph and defeat you have evoked. Very accurate. Nice writing here, my friend.
