Till I See You Again

Till I See You Again

A Poem by Jack...
"

It's funny how the world appears when you are missing someone desperately

"

Till I see you again

By Jack Ivey

Going for broke

In the wake of the city

Playing a card

That I’m not sure will win

Draping the towel

Off the edge of tomorrow

Nothing is real

Till I see you again

Calling a name

As if someone will listen

Drawing a line

On the face of the sand

Painting a scene

With a little commotion

Nothing is real

Till I see you again

Long ago traits

On the ocean are waiting

Different dreams

As the record does spin

Candle lit thoughts

Through my mind they are streaming

Nothing is real

Till I see you again

Daffodil days

Of a challenging color

Envelope tears

Sitting firm on the rim

Traffic light sundaes

All lit to perfection

Nothing is real

Till I see you again

Dixie cup pages

Of water logged fiction

Ocean side picnics

In spite of the whim

Clouded by croutons

Now tossed on the salad

Nothing is real

Till I see you again

Follow these words

With their character meaning

Read with your eyes

At the heart of the stem

Scattering rhymes

Just to tell you I love you

All will be real

When I see you again

Ah now... You know I can relate to this - and here I'm working really hard on pulling my head out of the sand - then I read this - and you've written it so well and perfectly! it touched - you reached - i'm leaving it at that.
It's all good... :)

Ah the madness that ensues when there's a hole where your heart once stood. So much emotion and beauty in those words.

'Dixie cup pages
Of water logged fiction'

Love that, love the entire write. Nicely pen'd.

Thank you so much Dalia. I am happy it smiled upon you.
you are indeed a romance poet, Jack. i have read some of the best and you have impressed me , no doubt. i love the clever word usage here, and the occasional alliteration combined with gentle and colorful imagery to describe your scenes and emotions. this is definitely one for the books.
