Pencil and Paper

By Jack Ivey

Take this pencil from my face

This piece of paper from my space

I do not feel like writing any poetry today

This writing makes me dizzy

And I find I'm far too busy

To put together rhyming words with nothing much to say

Inside my mind is hazy

Besides I'm way too lazy

To write a single sentence with this pencil you've supplied

Yes it is a pity

This paper white and pretty

That I could not compose a verse now even if I tried

So find some other fellow

For this pencil colored yellow

To write upon the sheet so nicely placed in front of me

Who seems to find inviting

This special form of writing

Of verse in counted syllable, that's known as poetry

An interesting structure; not a style I've seen much of before. I don't know if it's just me, but this reads softly and delicately with a hint of sadness, as if not writing has left you missing a key component to your life. So despite not actually being able to capture it at that moment, you're bereft, lost...

I think it to be flowingly easy to read and understand. I cannot relate to the frustration yet appreciate the poem itself. Thank u and amazeballs

This is nice and sweet, sometimes even poets find it hard to pen a line.At those times the pen and paper is more an enemy than a friend.I know it well :)

Thanks Sunshine. Nope, I don't think it will ever disappear until I do. :)

Wow Jack this is very cute and nice . I knew there's something peculiar about you . This is a very good piece and version . I wrote The Pen and The Pad because I missed my family . But inspirations still flows in your mind on a lazy hazy day ..
