Rockabye

Rockabye

A Poem by Jack Force

Rockabye baby,
You've rocked for too long.
The day dream you were,
Is the nightmare you've become.

Get back in.

I like it.
It's very simple and can be interpreted many ways according to the readers perspective which is fun for the reader as then they are then driven to become introspective about who they are and where they are in life at this point in time.
There seems to be a contradiction. Dreams becoming nightmares? How can one become the other as a dream is such a positive and a nightmare is always a negative. Is it that with inaction any dream becomes a nightmare? Is it that we don't know what it is we are asking for when we ask for our dreams to come true? The ending is of course the best......Get back in. Indeed, Get back in.
How thoughful that the writer gives a positive like that.
And that is how it should be. No matter what goes on, at the end of the day we just get right back in there and carry on mixing it up as that is that wonderful blissful little thing called LIFE!!

Married 4 times and constant interruptions
in peace, I agree.
My current GF lives most of time in Finland
as a film writer and TV host and that works
just right for me.
Clever piece,

Says an awful lot in a very few words. Certainly makes a good and strong point about something that plagues many. Like the way you ended it, "Get back in." Good poem!

Short, and somewhat tragic. I don't mean tragic as in the poems awful, I mean the it's sad that type of tragic. This was a great poem.
