A Story of Conflict

A Story of Conflict

A Poem by Mr. C

Heads bump, it’s as common as the sunrise.
New days bring fresh faces trying to forget yesterday’s battles.
Hidden are the deep cuts of sharp tongues.
Licks of pain refuse silence to remind you that it was real.
The dialogue all seems very familiar, almost deja vu.
Slight changes, perhaps a variance in delivery but the message still sounds the same.
Is it ever worth it? Is there progress?
And so, the story goes on.
Tales continue to be spun .
You continue to read to complete the task but grow weary of this fiction.
Pages turn and chapters continue to count higher.
But now-a-days, we move from the page to the screen with hopes the new format will bring renewed excitement.
Sadly, re-runs are never re-written and we find that even the big screen cannot save this story.
It’s the same thing I read before.

To refuse the silence of reality can lead to rewriting the script over and over again. Beware! I'll take this poem as the warning it is. Might be worth a sequel though.

Great imagery in this piece! Such a silky flow!
Sadly, re-runs are never re-written and we find that even the big screen cannot save this story! So much truth in that line!
