Waiting to Thaw

Waiting to Thaw

A Poem by Mr. C
"

It snowed the other day and it doesn’t normally snow here.

"
The coldest days blew in with the winter winds.
A biting chill, so harsh and so sudden.
Life seemed to slow to a stop, frozen in place not knowing when the sun would shine again.
It’s absence is jarring, yearning for the warmth that was once so familiar life without it does not seem possible.
The leaves have fallen.
The trees now bare.
But amidst what feels to be sullen times, the clouds take notice.
Loosening their grip on the skies, allowing the sun to peak through to bring hope that life will one day return.

Thank you Lisa. No rhyme for this one. I was caught by the moment and sometimes things just come out.. read more
I liked clouds losing their grip on the sky. You're on the edge of some metaphor here. Keep it up. I don't get much snow up here in Seattle either. Glad winters done.
