An Optimist

An Optimist

A Poem by Anita B Jacques
"

Hard times

"

Take a walk or sing a song.
Hard times are coming.
One by one
Face them head-on.
It could be worst you have to say.
Bumps or crosses you may call them.
Maybe cards you were dealt.
We all have them to face someday.
Worry will not help.
Just a waste.
Keep your head up with eyes open.
Tomorrow's another day.
It could be worst you have to say.

Wonderful poem!

I tend to gravitate towards those who come to their spirit through struggle. I like the sentiment in this poem. I am inspired to take a walk or sing a song. I think i will do both.

Words inspire - know that by sharing your words you are touching peoples souls in a positive way.

Bless You!

I love this...have tried both pessimism and optimism and I choose the latter. How right you are about worry being a waste. Doesn't do one bit of good...and you are right, it can always be worse than what we have it. I appreciate your outlook on life. Very refreshing!!

in the present times when there is so much unhappiness around, we need so many positive poems and stories to keep our soul in touch with GOD.
what a lovely way of expressing emotions in words....

You said it, it could be worse. I live by this and so I am surviving this winter without heating and warm water, I just can laugh..for it is so sad.
This was great fundamentals! I loved your small poem! We should learn it and say from memory.

The optimist is an apt title for this piece. A message of hope and seeing the glass as half full rather than half empty. :D One always has to have hope to make it through another day. Days are tough.. but every now and again, something happens to make all the struggle worth it!

A lovely piece! :)

this flows with an internal rhythm and flow that comes to life with well thought out words, the meaning
is uplifting, subtle and beautifully scribed.

I dig that. When things are bad it pays to not fall apart. And your right it can always get worse. Thank you for writing this and giving me a reason to smile.;).
