Bitter Cold Nights

In the bitter cold of the winter night
I close my eyes to a tunnel followed by light
Why did he take the wheel and drive.
If only he hadn't, I'd be alive

On the concrete cold, I've closed my eyes
To a final image of bitter night skies
Alone I am, a life not complete
My time is over, I will admit defeat

I never kissed the ones I love good bye
but now it ends, why must I die

My son was killed a year ago by a drunk driver so this really hits home. 4/15/07 it was a head on collision.
This was a powerful write. Thank you for sharing this. Debileah

Wow. I love your style. When you publish a book of poems, I want to know, because I wouldn't be able to resist buying them. You're are great at this. You can capture emotions and words like nothing I've ever read. I'm speechless again.
