BirdcageA Poem by J ShinodaNo matter how may times she escapes, she wakes up inside the birdcage.
The long metal curves are united again
forming into a sphere of claustrophobia This room is being clouded by darkness There's no moon, no clouds seen from the outside Only pitch black. The floor is open for an hour of tears that shed for an unidentified reason Crickets share their selfish sounds Disturbing the night that only offered silence The bird, trapped in the human box, is feeding on restless thoughts Hungry for companionship, thirsty for love Yet its only way out is the sun that would appear after hours. Fifteen minutes to eight; the night is still young Her mind is divided into two--peace and chaos. Where are the humans? It's hopeless at this moment. Need to wait for what they call "tomorrow". The hours are walking very slowly Pausing is not even enough Her brain is drying up, but there's no way out. She is still in the birdcage. © 2016 J Shinoda |
