What should I believe on

What should I believe on

A Poem by Rakesh Roushan
"

what would you believe in when your beloved only has betrayed you....

"
What should I believe on
tell me please o...

I admired your sweetness
your heart was so clean I believed
that let me desire
you made me aspire

You were so innocent I thought
like perished by god's hands
you were so omnipresent and now also
to me in my heart and every land

But you broke me
I never thought you could do this
in that sweetness lurked
there lied the black heart
that black heart of yours
left me in perplexity
petrifying me so terribly

nothing but only chaos is left
the mutual understanding or whatever we had
I cant understand where it went

you pretend to be beauty queen
but I would say you are rather a flattered dream
you behave to be more supreme
far far from that you are a lost stream

I don't know what to believe on
I can't even imagine it could happen

and so well I pray for your being still
hoping to find you back as you were.....

Its amazing the shift some people can make, they put on a facade to gain the affection that they desire. Once they are in the midst of the reality of it, they sometimes balk-change their mind or simply morph back into what they originally were: too tired, lazy, or comfortable within the relationship to maintain that facade. I honestly don't think people go around intentionally breaking hearts-I think it's more along the lines that they don't realize that they do it. Then again, I'm the type that tries to maintain that faith in humanity-especially regarding matters of the heart.

This poem is more of a rationalization within the mind, the narrator contemplating the idea that the individual to whom is referenced was not quite what she had at first seemed. Although the underlying tone of the poem is that of anger and anguish over the loss-there is that last little remnant of hope that is clearly expressed that she could find her way back to what she used to be.

Some people don't realize that although we grow and change-sometimes taking a few steps back to find where we left off will ultimately lead us to where we were supposed to go in the first place-but we simply got side-tracked. Most times we need to find our way back on our own...other times-we need to be gently nudged in that direction. Some people ignore those proddings and move ahead...others realize their misdirection and backtrack.

Nicely penned, my dear.

Your anger toward that person is evident. But it's the regret you seem to feel for that anger, is what caught me. You want them to be as they were, obviously, but YOU regret that they aren't. Regret THEY can't see what THEY have done. You regret, that is something...to convey that so quickly. Bravo! :) This is a powerful piece. (if I read it wrong I'm sorry) But still packed with emotion and yes...very powerful words. :)

People have always tried to be something they can never be. We never see that side when we are in love but when we meet it, its the most horrible mistake one can take for it leads to heartbreak and more.

This is well written and emotional. Good job.

If someone is truly remorseful for their actions, the relationship can be repaired... won't be 100% , but it can grow to be stronger... You have conveyed a strong emotion of betrayal in this piece... Nicely done!
