So Sayeth Mr. Solar

So Sayeth Mr. Solar

A Poem by j. louis wyatt
"

A poem in which the speaker brokenly seeks meaningful relation or social coherence given the colonial project's histories of violence, then & now.

"

Of many solar permutations / watt per square meter

Seams accuracy laster-guided /  at least

A less disturbing take plays part in dis- / splay"

Between engineered pigments designed to lure

Pollinators / equation turned to leaves

Leaving chlorophyll / sealing breaks at stems

Self-help guideless carotenoid yellows / photo-

Dim-wit-this composition / allowing blues

Couldn’t you have just f*****g said

Chloroplasts / cellular tissue of indefatigable

Greens / so in iterations of losing

Emergences of basic connections are ionic:

Couldn’t / do / what / was / needed

Needed to do nothing about doing / could

One stay with elemental / sector h2o

Sparse maple / oak / poor old cedar / dog-

Wood / or / what was being done there?

Talk of repair / of change/over time / tangential

Tendons a / reproduction colony /

Why not density / no light / what-

So ever / bonds merged in dialectic dress

[Proton, electron, neutron] pro / con formula

But to have sensed what is not

A magnetic field  / though it / thusly

Auto-rendered / or to see impossible bridges

Self-construct / thousands of visible

Lines of steel flashing out / harbor or bay

Performing an overdue loveliness again

With weather that took the day off

From wickedness / whole avenues of porous

Concrete though prisms / were forgone / but how

Then could bridges be built through

The very act of compression / how could

Such density find intervalic sonics

What if it weren’t even desire / but

A phenomenological possibility / a p(x)

Could love without self / or do right by / by

What isn’t evident / though the pylons

Solid are sunk / though cables flex & fray /

Is there birth without expansion / & if there were a

We / what would it be / how could it

Do through undoing that which is / history

Meaning / not gone / more relevant

The brutality of this very act /

Inscription as testament to real disinterest."

How even grief seems a universal suspect

Fog / proverbial / bridge too / too

Many ways to say & undo / to undo love undue"
