What Happened

What Happened

A Poem by silver threaded queen

I always tried to be what you wanted
but I could never quite make it
i tried to be you idealistic human
but in the end I always had to fake it
in the end we always ended up fading
the love
the hope
the friendship
all gone
nothing left but a empty shell
a empty home
a empty heart
so, whatever happened
to 'ever and always'?

very somber, makes me imagine childhood best friends growing different and not being able to adapt to each other with age. its actually really relatable.

"But I could never quite make it/I tried to be you idealistic human" That makes it sound like this narrator isn't a human. How about lover instead? I mean, this sounds like a love poem or something of sentiment. Is it not? Grammar bugged me on five different levels, but it's poetry; grammar has no place in poetry says e.e. cummings.

Getting past all of the critique, I think this poem is okay in all honesty. I don't think it's bad but it could be better.

Bitter and sweet, combined to lament! I felt this! xoxo

A good poem, very sad, but the way you look at difficult situations will help you a lot in the future, keep writing good work like this.
