Mississippi Queen

Mississippi Queen

A Poem by silver threaded queen

mississippi queen

down on her knees

low on the bank of the river

tears roll down

her bruised cheeks

and her wails carry to the stars

mississippi queen

deep from the bayou

has wandered far from home

she misses her land

her soil

her home

and she yearns for the touch of the marsh

mississippi queen stands up

and puts the handful of soil

in a bottle

to carry with her

forever

mississippi queen

far from the river

leaves

in search of bigger and better

but will always carry a peice of home

with her

I did enjoy this poem. I think there could be a bigger story in this piece. It's very good.
