fly

you fly

towards a new destination

far from everything

the pain

the hate

the love

twists together into one

you fly away

from all of it

running

you take off

jade wings sprouting from your back

you freeze

momentarily frozen in air

the particles dancing in circles around you

like diamonds

so beautiful

it takes your breath

the tears make slow tracks

down your face

you smile through it

breaking the spell and laughing

you fly

to a small island in the middle of the sky

floating

defying gravity 

you land 

to see a small bubbling stream

that runs off the edge

tall evergreens

bigger than any building you have ever seen

the sun comes out

hitting the stream

small pebbles reflect light

creating rainbows

the sand is shades of green

light and fine grained

feeling of feathers between your toes

you smile taking the place in

you think you may be happy here

no one to cause war

no one to twist your mind

but then you think

there is no one at all

no one to share your joy

no one to share your laughter

you shake your head deciding against it

you run

letting your jade wings sprout out

and fly away

An interesting format that flows from thoughts of getting away from it all, and realizing all is not what it seems..........then running away for it with jade wings hopefully releasing one from the unpleasant things of life
