fallen

fallen

A Chapter by silver threaded queen

you are running
your hair is twisting behind you
like a flame
you run
from what
is it fear
or is it amusement
you slow, and come to a dark cottage
the fear
it remains
you slip in
to see a single black rose
it twists, and morphs
into a tree
the branches twisted
ready to hold
to hurt
it twists, yet again
into a small rabbit
the rabbit stare's
waiting
knowing how much you have fallen
a last time it morphs
into a black wolf
it lunges
you are gone
years later
in the place of that cottage
for it has burned down
is a old wise oak
with a single rose sitting on the ground
waiting for the next person to come
to morph
yet again
and they will to
be fallen

I find this poem very impressive. It is like a fable or legend. Love the imagery you use in this too.
