forbidden

forbidden

A Poem by silver threaded queen

little snake, slinking low on the ground
little bird high in the tree tops
gathered together
they came up to me
spoke words of love and peace
then twisted into something completely new to me

tall and dark with horns growing fast

and they offered me something they called the forbidden fruit

I smiled a took it, pleased as could be

and took a bite

delicious

I always thought that maybe the snake wasn't in it alone.
