All or NothingA Poem by A poet's heartA passion for musicI can give you my all or nothing at all. A beautiful sound that’s rich and round, Or an unruly squeak that’s lacking technique. I can be motivated and dedicated, Or I can procrastinate and put off our date. I can devour an hour without will power, Or I can stay for a minute then say that I’m finished. I can play you a symphony from the new age, Or I can play you 4’33 by John Cage.
I can give you my all or nothing at all Because I can give you my soul or not feel whole, But living life with such strife just doesn’t feel right, And I wish a middle ground didn’t have to be found. © 2011 A poet's heart |
