Love yourself, have inner wealthA Poem by A poet's heartIt’s funny what you do to me And how you change my psychology You make me want for only you- My dreams just vanish into the blue
But that’s not the way that it should be In no way is that healthy I must remember to love myself To find once more, my inner wealth
I didn’t want to let you go But I had to give myself room to grow; I looked at you, then I looked at me, And you’d said there’s no future for us, you see, And well, if I could make only one guarantee, Through all my life, there will always be me.
So despite the love I’ve always had for you, It was me I chose to love through and through, To put myself first, to stop twisting the knife, And ultimately rekindle my love for life. © 2011 A poet's heartAuthor's Note
