Burning Sun

Burning Sun

A Poem by A poet's heart

The walls are high, the maze is long
The ground is steady, yet she stumbles along.

Years ago, the path was clear
Towards the future she would steer
But in one turn, she lost her way
And amongst the rubble she now lay.

Undoubtably, it was more fun
But overheating in the burning sun
Her mind was in a constant daze
She lacked desire to leave the maze.

Happiness was a short term goal
Slowly she dug herself a hole
Continually trying to clamber out
Her mind began to fill with doubt.

So still she's in that dingy pit
Always thinking it's time to quit
But with nowhere that she could turn,
It's to stay strong that she must learn.
