Something

Something

A Poem by A poet's heart

Something’s telling me to run-

A relationship’s not what I want.

Something says get out of there

You had a plan, how things should fare.

Something says we’re not a match

Despite you being, well, quite a catch

And something says you’re not for me

So don’t waste time so carelessly.

Yet, something’s shouting out to stay,

What if it's you that got away?

Something tells me that you’re safe,

A deserved person for my faith.

Something says I’ve got it wrong

How love should feel all along,

And something says to understand

You are closed to his open hand.

And maybe that’s the issue here;

You’re stifled from a previous year.

You’ve only used your head since then-

Your heart’s not seen daylight again.

Why don’t you try to let him in?

Feel that fear that love can bring.

Why don’t you try to lose the wall?

Just stand back up if you should fall.
