A Twist on an Old Classic
A Poem by
FuMiko
A harsh twist on an old classic everyone knows.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
There's something I'd really,
Like to tell you.
You're in my heart,
I'd like you to know.
But not in the middle,
not where you'd show.
The moments we shared,
sweet, but drag on.
Remain in my head,
But quite nearly gone.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'd like you to know,
that, once, I loved you.

Author's Note
I know, it's a little repetitive, and not in everyone's tastes.
But I like the simplicity of it.
Reviews
I like the simplicity and how you turned the poem around.

"The moments we shared,
sweet, but drag on." - this doesn't work right. Perhaps "The moments we shared, though sweet, drag on." or something like that.
I like this though in all its simplicity and complexity. Good work.
