If I were a duck for a dayA Poem by BelaIf I were a duck for a day, Would life be more simple? Would I cease to feel separate? Would I cease to feel anger, frustration, despair, hate, resentment, jealousy; The need to conquer, The need to destroy; Would I just go about My routines of survival, One with my kind And all of creation, Having an innate understanding Of the simple balance of it all. The confusion, the destruction, The unaware, unconscious mind Of the human being. Free to roam, free to fly, Free from the dysfunction & madness Of the human mind. Free to be me, If I were but a duck for a day. © 2022 Bela |
