Foolish Nightmares

Foolish Nightmares

A Poem by ix Ranger
"

Poem tells itself.

"
This blinding darkness circles him,
Desperately looking for the light,
Crawling closer it begins to dim,
Hoping he can get that one last fight,

He grasps his chest,
Knowing his heart is being put to the test,
Looking at the light in the distance,
Debating its existence,

He can't stay here,
Only to be trapped in fear,
He presses on to escape this fate,
Wondering when he'll walk through the gate,

He screams hoping to be heard,
Clutching the rose,
Hoping she got every word,
His blood flows,

Thinking about the days,
When he would wake up in a daze,
Turning his head to stare,
As if her eyes were a flare,

Getting closer to the end,
Where this road begins to bend,
Seeing her face in his mind,
Hoping to never be left behind,

This has to be a mistake,
He passes through the light - blinded,
Only to wake,
Just to be reminded,

Everything was just a dream,
His tears flowing like a stream,
Wrapping his arms around her,
Saying he'll stay longer,

Holding her close,
Making sure she knows he cares about her the most,
Whispering words so true,
"Hey Christi I really love you."
