Feelings for the Artifical Being

Feelings for the Artifical Being

Give me a wink from your mechanical eye
Focus on the clock during your job
As if you actually worry about time
Routine, routine, round and round
Nothing more than machine
Pumping out fuel for the gasoline economy
50's style home life
Welcome home dear dad
Hey lovely dear wife
Now just F**K OFF Timmy!
And the everyday thug-life
Distant foreign field paranoia
Ordered and directed by the higher up
You think that stereotype you're following is "you"
"Fit in" you say?
Into your MTV propaganda?
Your Fox News, MSNBC, Oxygen, or "normal" walk of life
Hello Real-life world
as if that pseudo-reality is the actuality
Puppets played
Gears for the World of Today
For the dollar and by the dollar
Until the breath from your lungs is no more
Work every minute of your life
Just so you think you're providing for the family you care for
For the children of your creation to be the doctors of tomorrow
A cheap imitation of life, so hollow
For happiness isn't much real
Than emotion from the artificial
Welcome to the world you live in
Now what you really gunna do about it?

This is absolutely FANTASTIC!! one of the best poems I have read at writerscafe.org! Its so true......... the kind of moronic lives we live each day and the everyday void and meaninglessness that we have to live with..... We have to honestly think "Now what you really gunna do about it?"... Excellent work!!

You are on a roll this early morning. I agree with your words. We live like robots in this world. Few moments for people to think and talk. I remember as a kid. Sitting for hours listening to the elders speak.

A long time ago. When I was single. I was going to stay free of rules and control. Kids and wife leave me with work and maintaining a good life for them. What can we do about it? I believe we need to stop. Walk to a park. Talk, play music and think. Maybe start the game again? Thank you for your powerful poetry. Always can make me think. A outstanding poem.
