Oh Resplendent RainA Poem by AnyaIt started to rain, and memories flooded my mind. I knew I had to get this on paper.Oh resplendent rain You bring me joy with your streaks of light And hungry growls That flaunt your power
Barefoot I stand In the soft lush green that you
water I smell memories of past Creep up on me
Loved ones whose company’s lost, draws out tears You were always there I’m not one for nostalgia But you break me
So many drops I can’t count It goes by too fast to savor the
moment I hope you never leave I know I ask for nonsense
Inhabiting in the desert The trees dance in jubilee You are a foreign stranger Openly welcomed
You forewarn us of your approach And the once beautiful day flees You scare the sun and its warmth
and bring us cold The birds hide in their nests
Bad signs ascend The lively shades and bursts of
clouds turn white to grey You in yourself you are beauty But many are blind
For after you’re gone, The trees are refreshed The smell you leave is
breathtaking You bring us life and newness
And you leave us, our appetite
