A While Passed

a poem I wrote in the middle of the summer, within the first couple of months of my last relationship...i thought he was my first real love

For the first time
When I look in the mirror
And I smile
I see it
Grinning back at me

And like a rose
I seem to be in's bloom
Everythings connecting
Making perfect tune

It's been a while
since I've been inspired
had someone feel desire
for me simply
just being me

Like the Carribeaan
On a calm summer day
The waves crash upon my feet
Not in aggravation
But pure serenity

It's been a while
Since I've felt beautiful
just being me
And for the first time
My heart is singing a song
I never expected it to sing

This is all new to me
Wonderful and terrifying
I think this is love.
