Truth behind the Eyes

You looked into my eyes.

The eyes that once stole your breath away.

I know you saw something in them.

When our eyes met today.

 

Were you scared of the aftermath you left behind?
Were you scared of the truth behind your lies?
 

You turned away quickly, and when I wasnt there to see

I felt your eyes bearing upon me

 

Why just look? Why not talk? Why not say?
Why not say you're sorry for the ways you have behaved?

This is beautiful, so sad and full of pain and regret, but indeed it is beautifully sad!
I loved the closing line a lot, it concluded the poem very well!

Laughing faces doesn't mean that there is no sadness in their lives, it just means that they have enough courage to deal with it!
