Another nights performanceA Story by It's RO!
She lifted her hand up in the air, while the other clenched her coat tight, in part because of the cold and to also hide the revealing outfit underneath. It was never hard for her to grab the attention of a passing taxi driver. She was young. She was beautiful. She was alone. Within but a few seconds a cab pulls up right beside her, and as he approaches she notices the drivers eyes making their way from her blondish curls, to her slender neckline, down her thick long coat, and finishing at her expensive red heels. "Hello" he says as she sets in. "Hi. The Alcove Hotel off 42nd" she answered, and with a quick nod from the driver they were on their way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She makes her way from the limo to the back door of the theater, brushing past a slew of bright flashing lights waving and smiling, finally blowing a kiss just before the door closed. "Quickly! This way!" the theater techs said as they waved her over to her dressing room. The room was beautiful. Brightly lit and with a soft comfortable chair sitting in front of a large mirror, it was perfect. She sat in front of the mirror inspecting every last bit of her makeup to ensure all was in place and perfect. Tonight was a new night in a new theater and in front of a new audience. She had a lot to prove if she wanted to be invited to sing here again. She was confident she would impress. She was certain that this night would be nothing short of perfect. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She checked her curls and makeup with her reflection on the taxi window as they pull up to the hotel. "Can you be back here in an hour" she asks. "I can try" but she knew that would change to a definite "yes" as she handed him an extra forty dollars. With eyebrows raised, he nods his head in approval as she closes the door. She makes her way to the door as the doorman smiles and lets her in. She smiled back and entered a beautiful large lobby with a coy pond and glass elevators. Definitely one of the nicer hotels she's ever been. She makes her way to the elevators and passes by the lobby bar when she notices the gaze of the bartender following her every step. She knew that he's seen girls like her come through here, and perhaps even WHY they come in. She reached the elevator selected the floor and glanced at the barkeep who smiled a silent "welcome" to her. And why wouldn't he? The availability of girls like her is what often brings repeat business for him and the hotel. She looks at her phone to check the room number as she steps out and follows the numbers down the hall. She was impressed by the size of the hotel as over the railing she could see the entire lobby, quite a few of the rooms and noticed the pond itself formed an "A" such a neat sight. She reached the room and took a few deep quiet breaths, as meeting with a new client at a new hotel was always nerve-wrecking no matter how many times she's done it before. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A stage hand walks into the dressing room. "They're waiting" he said and she checked herself one quick last time in the mirror slightly nervous yet not both at the same time. She stood up and followed him out of the room, past a few stage workers looking on with anticipation in their eyes excited to see and hear her perform from off stage. She was lead up the stairs and in front of a large velvet curtain and was informed that it was to fall in less than one minute. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hi" said a middle aged man as he opened the door. "Hello" she said seductively as she held out her gloved hand. He grabbed hold of it and led it to his lips. He backed towards the bedroom and she kicked the door closed. That was her role tonight. The woman to take charge and be as demanding and confident as possible. She pushed him back on the bed and bit the fingertip of her glove and delicately slid her hand out. She noticed on the night stand what had to be a wedding ring sitting atop the alarm clock. "You're married?" she asked as he pulled off her remaining glove. "Not tonight" he smirked and looked up at her. Disgusted, she slapped him hard on the face with the empty glove. Whereas many times before men would coyly work their way around the question, effectively increasing their nervousness and making the act finish much more quickly, for this man to so unabashedly admit his infidelity was a bit of a shock to her. He wanted pain, and though previously unsure of her ability to play the part of a dominatrix, she found sudden comfort in her role. "Lay down" she demanded and obediently he did so. She unbuttoned her coat and with his mouth agape he watched as her coat sexily opened and slid off her shoulders. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suddenly the curtain fell to the floor, revealing her to her long waiting audience. Her eyes slowly moved from the stage floor to the source of the loud and thunderous cheers that filled the theater. Then just as quickly as the theater filled with noise, silence set in. They were eager to hear what she had in store for them. They all had read the reviews from her previous performances that absolutely praised her and were curious themselves to see if she were worthy not only of their money, but also their attention. Looking at a sea of new and smiling faces she prepared herself for a very challenging night. Her mouth opened and she began. Suddenly the audience's smiles grew as their expectations were not only met, but far surpassed. She saw as their faces of anticipation turned to faces of pleasure. They loved everything about her. She was beautiful. She was talented. Few would ever believe how new she was to singing onstage. She comfortably moved her way across the stage making it her own. Before she knew it, it was over. The next half second of quiet seemed to last for hours before the theater shot out of their seats in a roaring round of applause. The curtains closed and she could hear her heart beating out of her chest as she tried to catch her breath. She turned towards the exit and giddily made her way to the door. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The door closed behind her and left her in the long empty hotel hallway. Again she found herself alone. Walking past door after door towards the elevator she thanks all her fans awaiting her behind the theater. She apologizes that she has no time for questions but assured she would return if invited. She made her way out the front door and as the doorman wished her a goodnight, she turned gracefully toward him "Thank you ever so much, I hope to be back soon" and blew him a kiss as she entered her limo. Now at the close of her night she awaited a call from her agent for news of her review and the odds of an encore. She kicked her feet up on the taxi's backseat and stared out the back window. She knew this wouldn't last long. She didn't want it to. She knew there was so much more out there to do, to see. But for now it was nice. For now it had to do. © 2011 It's RO!Author's Note
