Lost

Lost

A Poem by Darlin

Eyes like glass and smile like porcelain

Standing out but blending in.

Masked face so still no emotions are shown

People don't realize the pain that has grown.

Feeling worthless and weak,

The face is filled with streaks.

Seems so lifeless and ready to fall

Someone help and fix it all!

Pleading for an escape and yearning for the end,

Let's see how far one can bend,

Before they break and drown in the dark

Looking for that hope and for that spark.

Never truely believing

That time helps the healing.

Lost the person who used to be

Can barely hope, can barely breathe.

Maybe love will repair the heart

Keep it from tearing apart.

All she can do is wait for her fate

And her dream of finding a soul mate...

You have some good imagery here ("eyes like glass", "smile like porcelain"). Even though there is dispair in this poem, the fact that she still dreams of finding her soulmate provides hope, and prevents the reader from being overwhelmed by the dispair. Nice work, keep writing!
