A Desperate Shadow

A Desperate Shadow

A Poem by Steve
"

Sometimes words follow me

"
When I walk down a street
I feel like I'm behind someone
But nobody is there
Nobody to meet

I'm a tired, lonely shadow
Buffeted by strong winds
I have to stop myself
And look around

But, still nobody there
What's happening?
I want to be someone's shadow
But they all left me

The last two lines are sad but then almost all the words that are compelling and moving seem to be melancholic and lonely.Perhaps the lone reflections make for the best of words.

A plea to be recognised?

A poem of despair...new concept. I never thought of how lonely a shadow could be...with no one to follow. You provided an insight.
