WordsA Poem by JulesI kind of hate to rhyme sometimes, but sometimes it just happens.I don’t have the words I used to, but they’ve left
I used them up describing things
That couldn’t matter less
I used them up on people
Upon deaf ears most fell
I used them up on shoes and clothes
And other things, as well
I used them up on movies
And books and music too
I tried to make connections
To him, to her, to you
I can’t thesaurus anymore
My thinking’s gone cliché
I can see what I want to say
But words have left my brain
I need new words to play with
Shiny, and just mine
I need a kickstart, just a spark
My thinking to refine
But then again, it’s not the words
It’s how they are arranged
The flow, the cadence, rhymed or not
My brain’s what needs to change
And so I venture forward
To write and think much more
To ponder, feel, and hope, always
To further crack the door
