Mine

Mine

A Poem by Jules

brief shining moments

       of connection

make it possible to go on

       living

calm and restful stages of alone

provide the strength to face the world

i’m so completely mine

       i can never be yours

       “take me, i’m yours”

       no, leave me, i’m mine

you will come and go, all of you

       and come again

                     and away you go

i am the only constant

       in my life

me, mine, i, my

       anybody else out there?

       didn’t think so

it’s ok

calm and restful stages of alone

       show me who i am

i am all mine

i am the only constant

in my life

This is so true. And yet I've never thought of myself like that. Yet again, you have expressed yourself beautifully and caught my attention with your perfectly written words. I really enjoyed this and look forward to reading more of your work.

I love this, it sings to me, a tune I recognize. Just Love it.

Ooooh, I like this one very much. Those brief moments of connection followed by the need, the desire to be alone again, to recharge in the solitude of peace and quiet, the rays of the sun flowing like current into my veins and giving me the strength to carry on. The coming and the going as waves in the ocean of my life. The sand has seen it all before. Jules, I really, really like this poem. Your writing is as a mirror.
