Touch

Touch

A Poem by Jules

Melancholy

Poignant

Bittersweet

Aching, longing, yearning

Couldn't happen

Possibly

Or...?

Sublime hurting

Secret, dark and sweet

Ifs

What if

What then?

Couldn't

Could, though

Ache;
 Aching

Yearning...desperately

Don't want it

Need it

Connection

Deeper

Without the actual you

You cannot submit

Nor can I

Deeper, the idea

Vision

Oh, to touch

Can I touch you?

Do I?

At all?

Don’t touch me!

Please.

Diaphanous, fleeting, barely glimpsed

Something there

Corner of the eye

Peripheral

Nothing

Everything

But, what if?

Sweetest hurting

Wounds me

Deeply

Possibilities

Only

Pain

Essential

Ache

Bittersweet, secret

I know

Lived it

Didn't need “you”

Just the idea

Of you

Wonderful pacing, using the words to sing a soulful melody as songbirds on a cloudless day. I loved the "don't want it" and then "need it." Such a wonderously delicious idea, sweet as dark chocolate dipped in ripe lush strawberries.

Oh, I loved the format in this piece! And your words are so thought-provoking. This gives off some strong feelings, and I like that. Great job! Keep up the good work, Jules!
