Jules, you've done a wonderful job with the words given and the limitations. You seem to tap into a greater truth in all the poems that I've read and this one is no exception. I've had my share of regrets and my wasted nights thinking what if. Second chances. I won't say I'm losing faith as I age, but as I reflect on my life, it seems life, at least for me, has been about opportunity in the moment, a crossroads that once not taken is seldom available again. I'm learning to let loose my mistakes, to forgive myself more often and to know, that when opportunity presents itself, that this day will not come again. Thank you for making me think and feel. That's what your poetry does. And that means you are doing it right! :-)
