You left your bite marks in my styrofoam cup

You left your bite marks in my styrofoam cup

A Poem by Julia

Everyone's been trying to tell me,

“Be glad you have those memories at all”
But when I drive by the coffee shop we used to go to
Last winter
I think about your eyes tracing my silhouette as you
Opened the door for me.
And I remember the night
When you promised you would be my first dance,
And then the night when we were at a party
And your eyes still shifted from me to her.
You've already put a ring on her finger
And it should not matter at all to me
But these memories I should be thankful for,
Remind me that you were a waste of six seasons.

How hard it is to want the memory but still feel the pain.
A good write.
