A Life Taken Too Early (R.I.P Derrell Turner)

Would it matter to you

If someone you loved with all your heart

Was no longer there?

If they disappeared from existance

As quickly as they came

Would it matter

If someone you didn't know lost their life?

But the one you know

Survived

With a life changing expirience?

People are so cruel for no reason

No reason at all

Innocent lives are taken

So many young ones fall

To violence

Stupidy

And bad choices

That trigger was pulled

Bam bam bam

3 shots

Now a life is gone

Not one in mine

But in so many others

Yet still I mourn for that innocent life now gone

The trigger is pulled again

Bang

1 shot this time

My friend is shot in the leg

He falls to the ground

Just as his best friend

Except this time alive

This life is one thats part of mine

He's hurt

But the pain could not match

The loss of his friend

That one innocent life

Not forgotten

Taken way to early

To such a cruel fate

Author's Note

This poem is dedicated to the life of Derrell Turner who was killed for no reason. Also, in this poem is Tom Woodson who was shot in the leg as he watched his best friend's life be taken early. Derrell you will not be forgotten!
