Deflated

Deflated

A Poem by Marissa

emptyemptyempty,
fill me up,
EMPTY,
why am I so damn EMPTY,
a deflated balloon,
and you the helium,
why,
you get me high for a short time,
there's a hole in me,
the size of my hope,
so small,
and your efforts go to waste,
still I am,
empty
emptyempty,
emptyemptyempty,
forever I am hollow on the inside.

This is nice work. The hole that keeps this soul
from ever being able to flourish at its best was
both emotionally and visually striking.

You made good use of repetition as well.
