Distance

Distance

A Poem by Brady Bynum

It's the reason we pursue.  The reason we spend our lives trying and searching, because whatever is at the end of that distance is worth it.  Whether it be love, success, or happiness, everyone endures and goes the distance to achieve those things in life that we believe are worth our time.  It's never subtle how hard people pursue that which they believe will make them satisfied, for one may examine entire lives, fortunes, and relationships devoted to that satisfaction. Oddly enough, it's the mere distance that discourages most from putting forth the effort. They don't want to confront their fears, exert their lives, or overcome the obstacles that are often necessary to finding and achieving the fulfillment that is so great, whatever it may be.  The distance has been set before us, daring us to attempt its course, but nothing will inhibit me, and no man will forbid me.
