Edmund's release

Edmund's release

A Poem by isiah_holmes

His voice loud with lyrical announcement
His voice tall with abstract language and truth
Melodies traveled with a trip, and truth
A trip and truth, a trip spilling into deep truth
Truth, this is the gift of my friend

To some he is crazed, mad with voiceful delusions
Delirium, echos that made him a victim of his own mind
His mind sick and talented with gifts of string play
His fingers dance along silver strands, harmonized as they go

But I must now admit and show, confess something of my friend
Edmund
My good friend, a slave to suggestion
Synthetic, natural, quakes from the pit of human creation
He's addicted, I think we're all addicted
So he was sent away from his rag tag band
Carried off in secret, locked away in the hopes that this boy
This person, may be healed of some sort of ailment
The disease of absolute dependence

He returned from his disappearance, hair shaved
Skin clear, mind dry, he called me to his home for forbidden play
I provided the means, and we partook in the gateway to his disease

As i drowned in my old pleasure
My old-truly old friend green with illegality
I spied a change in the air, circulating around Edmund
His eyes wide, his mood more and more paranoid, he confessed
"My soul doesn't want this anymore, Its beautiful"
Tears choked back behind his face refused to flow
And he told me it was but his will denying their appearance

He thanked me as if I had done him some favor
He thanked me for his release
He's free, I helped my still tormented friend become free
It was then that i decided to write along the papers crease
Write and speak of Edmund's release
