The sky is a little closer than it seems

The sky is a little closer than it seems

A Poem by isiah_holmes

Shocking, shocked all out of place here
Zapped through their lives with
Faces drowned by water
Seeping, creeping past the distance
It is this very instance i have seen the way this ends
Longing, longing for a father
Waiting for a mother
Hoping to find a brother
Laughing, laughing at all my
Mishaps
Scared to mark this
Treasure map, buried beneath my comforter
The sky is a little closer than it seems
It screams for the way things here need to be
Gravel turned to sand as i paced along this beachhead
Listen to what my friend said, listen to what she said
The sky is a little closer than it seems
The sky is a little closer than it seems
Falling, falling down this pipeline
Waiting for the sun to shine, searching for what remains mine
Shine, shine for this tiny pebble
For this piece of
Shrapnel, piercing past your flak shell
The sky is a little closer than it seems
Screaming for the way things here need to be
Gravel melted to sand because we shouldn't be here
The gravel turned to sand because friends remain near
Clearly things are more than what they seem to be
Clearly these things will reappear to me
Signs outside my window
Showing echos of false faith
Grinning at how small children
Run and play all out of place
Showing echos of false faith
Running down..
There's not much more i can say here
There's not much more i can do
I try my best not to remain here
What could you do even if you knew?
The sky is a little closer than it seems
It screamed for the way things need to be
Gravel turned to sand, my friend believes he is a man
Hes a man who understands what it means to remain young
The sky is a little closer than it seems
The sky is so much closer than it seem!
