the dragons dwelling

the dragons dwelling

A Poem by isiah_holmes

Down in the treasure mine, deep..

Dwelling horriblly in the dark

Sleeping quietly, slumber..

The serpent lies coiled around its mate

                                  Its friend

The sick dragons scales pull and fall away

His golden crown becomes rusted by day

Down there no children play

     Say, please, say

Cry to the lonely king

     Sing, sing, sing

watch it sing along

Weep with the lonely friend

The only victim

Look now at his only companion

The withered skeleton he protects

The bones of the girl-child, the only one who dared

Who stayed in the mine with the serpent

It seems only dieing girls care
