Bonfire

Bonfire

A Poem by isiah_holmes

Here we sit, huddled around the great blaze

The healing fire

Our memories of nights before

Fade into the thick, posionous haze

The garden, the garden gate

All the lost boy's and slave girls

Await some truely unjust fate

Almost as if the sun never smiled to them

The moons beauty never touched their hearts

Now we peer at the rose, the rose

The white rose, the beautiful rose

The pure one, the innocent child

Watch the rose burn into our bonfire tonight

As we peer back in time

Waiting for the war to finially end

For the peace dove to fly, its claws gripping a kind letter to send

An interesting poem that brings both vivid imagery and stirring emotions.

I love how you use your words. You are a great poet. I am looking forward to reading more of your works. The theme of this poem is a little unclear - reading it again, I think it's about memories, or a garden, or one recalling memories IN a garden - but sometimes it makes it more mysterious that way, I suppose.
But, if I may ask, where do you get ideas for writing poetry? I've been meaning to write poetry for a long time, but the words don't seem to come out.
