The robber

The robber

A Story by ishaan grewal

My parents died when I was still young but they left me a large fortune which should have been enough for me and a few generations after me but I was young and foolish and spent most of it on purposeless luxuries. When I was almost broke I realized my mistakes and knew that I would have to earn money to survive.

I was well educated and well versed in english so finding a job with good pay would be easy or so I thought. "I am so sorry Ishaan but we have no jobs available at the moment, I will remember you if anything comes up." was the common answer from most of the people. One night I was walking home after yet another failed interview, when I heard the noise of glass breaking. A robber ran out of a house with a large amount of cash.

Just then an idea came in my mind. I knew that it was wrong but I was desperate for money. I looked around for a suitable house. Then across the street I saw a big house. I thought that it was perfect for my plans. I slowly walked towards the house. When I reached the back door I saw that the lock on the door was mysteriously broken. The moment I opened the door a robber ran out of the house, bumped into me and fell to the ground.

A few seconds later an old man came out of the door and saw me holding the thief. He thought that I had caught the thief. By this time a crowd had assembled. The old man gave me some money as a reward. The police arrived and thanked me for catching the man who was a wanted criminal. I received Rs10,000 as reward. With this money I started my business and am pretty well of now.
