I'm Isamy

I'm Isamy

A Chapter by Ray Mase

IT was the nightfall of 6th December 2013. We were travelling to Sapporo. The greenscenery was moving opposite to the motion of the train. Everyone was feeling lazy when Shivani suggested the idea to play cards. She got the deck of cards from her bag. The other people also joined us. Then Shivani asked me, “You want to play, Ray?”  I was blank for a moment, because it was the first time she talked to me. I came back to my senses when she tried to pull me back from my blank state by waving her hand in front of my face.

“I-I don’t know how to play cards.” I replied, wearing a little embarrassed look on my face. “You really don’t know how to play cards?” she asked.

“No” said I. She gave me a pity look and said, “It will be better if you watch us in the first round, you can sit beside me”. I nodded.

Shivani shuffled the cards among Clara, Sunny and Fores.

We were in Hokutosei (sleeper train for Tokyo to Sapporo route); we started our journey from London. Sunny, Fores, Clara, Shivani and I were travelling to Sunny’s grandmother’s house to enjoy our Christmas vacations in Japan. Since, it was our first visit to Japan, we decided to enjoy the landscape. So, we took a train instead of flight to Sapporo. I was sitting on 25 (a window seat), Shivani got seat opposite to me (seat no. 28), Clara was sitting beside her on 29, her adjacent seat was occupied by a middle-aged woman nearly in her 30s. Sunny, whose family organized this trip, was sitting on 26, and Fores my best friend was sitting on 27. The side berth was occupied by a newly married couple.

Due to my awkward nature I rarely talk to anyone. Fores and Sunny was my friends from 5th grade. And because of them I had to come to this trip with others.

Clara and I exchanged seats. I sat beside Shivani in order to completely understand that game to its complete depth. I learnt all the rules and after a struggle for two hours I won two times, first against Sunny, the other one against Shivani by herself.

After the game, Clara and Shivani were talking, while we boys played footsie with each other. “Grow up! You guys” Clara shouted.

I glanced to the next compartment, the person sitting on seat no. 24. She too started the journey with us at Tokyo. “What are you looking at, you jerk!” Shivani uttered and giggled, “You can do far better than her” she teased me.

“Shut up!” I snarled. ”I was wondering how odd she is... ”

“Care to explain, in what criteria she seems so odd to you?”

“Look at her, she is going to Sapporo still she doesn’t have much luggage, only a bag and...”

“How do you come to know that she is heading for Sapporo, don’t brag.” She interrupted me. I hate when someone interrupts me, while I’m deducing something. ”When the ticket checker asked her to show her ticket by chance I glanced at her ticket” I concluded my previous reasoning.

“But, she can be a business woman, no?” she asked.

“No, she can’t. Look at her she got a handbag and another bag with curved design. What do you see? For business you need some files, and files are stored in a briefcase or something similar to it so that they don’t get crumbled, there is nothing like that. Moreover, that curved bag is light enough, hence it confirms no chance for existence of a laptop. Furthermore, with absolute confidence I can say that she is a gymnast. ”

“How on earth you know that she is a gymnast and the weight of her bag? Do you think you can tell me any story and I will believe you?”

I was going to describe my reasoning to her, but she too considers that I almost brag. I felt a little offended. “You are rude.” I uttered keeping my face down, while Fores, Sunny and Clara began to laugh uncontrollably on me.

I rushed towards the washroom as fast as possible. I checked the two bathrooms in our coach they were already occupied. So, I needed to travel a little distance to another coach’s washroom.

As I returned back to my coach I saw Shivani standing near the door. She came close to me and said “Here” she handed me one of the tetra pack of mango juice she was carrying, and continued “I’m sorry, you know when you get away, and I took the chance to ask the woman her profession.

“And to my astonishment, she told me that she is a gymnast, which drove me here to make an apology to you.

“So, I hope I didn’t sound rude at that time. And sorry again” She said. Actually, you sounded more than rude at that time, I wanted to say but kept my mouth shut. She pierced the opening of her mango juice pack with her straw. I was diligently watching her. She poked me with her elbow, as her both hands were helping her to hold the tetra pack close to her mouth. ”What... haven’t you seen a girl before drinking through straw?” said she and giggled.

“No, uh... nothing” I said.

“How do you know about her?”

“Her?” I asked to specify her question.

“I mean the lady-gymnast.”

“Oh, that was easy. When we arrived she asked me to put her bag on her seat and I noticed callous on her hand while taking the bag from her left hand. So probably, she is working with iron bars regularly. And where you will find iron bars and a female blonde, of course she is a gymnast.”

“But, you can find callous on the hands of a tennis player.” Shivani interrupted me again.

“Yes, it is possible but when she was sitting cross-legged I saw marks on her leg which was developed by wearing the suit for gymnastic.”

“Why! You pervert always checking out, huh?” she said, bringing an exhausted look on her face.

“No, I was not watching her. It is called observing. You know constant and careful-observation is the key to being a detective. Sir Sherlock Holmes knew about his companion Dr. John Watson that he had worked in Afghanistan only through a single hand shake” I said as I threw the tetra-pack in the dustbin.

“Bulls-eye!” I exclaimed as I hit the trash accurately in the bin.

“You are so full of yourself” she said and threw her tetra pack straight into the dustbin followed by my trajectory path.

It began to get dark. Everyone was eagerly waiting for the dinner from the pantry car to be served. I took out my phone from my pocket, and checked emails and other notifications. Then Sunny said holding today’s morning paper, “this is going beyond the imagination, that guy Isamy the famous detective has solved another 5 cases without revealing his true identity. Furthermore, all the cases originated from Japan, left no sign of any evidence at the crime spot…”

“It is what the officials had assumed,” I interrupted. “In each case you will find something that can prove the crime of the culprit.”

“They all were geniuses. Even one of them had got degree from Natomi Institute of Applied Sciences.” Sunny said, showing the article on the sixth page of the newspaper. There was a bald man in the photo with bushy moustache and the cold eyes as every other criminal who had killed many humans who was accused for an attempt to blow up the Tokyo tower. “It’s over, Isamy caught them. He is a genius of the era” Shivani said. “Without any face” Fores commented.

“But, still he is incomparable” she sighed.

“Come now, every human piece is comparable” Clara said. I turned towards the window to avoid falling in this conversation. They continued the silly conversation till dinner.

The staff took a while to serve us dinner, how careless, I thought. Even the woman on seat 24, Ms. Suzume got the food tray of Mr. Izuki Kure.

After supper, everyone wanted to sleep. The middle aged-woman, Hoshika Arita as she introduced herself exchanged her berth with Shivani to sleep on the lower berth and Fores exchanged his seat with me because she had fear from heights. So once again, Shivani and I were face to face. I took my chance to study and observe the activities of other people around our compartment. The newly wedded pair, Mr. Izuki Kure and Mrs. Sora Kure, seems to be spending more time with each other on the same berth sitting cross-legged in front of each other. At last I turned my head to the other side and waited to fell asleep.

Suddenly, the train halted with a jolt. To my surprise I found my adjacent companion, Shivani, was also up, using her phone to keep herself from sleeping.

“What time it is?” I queried her.

“2:30.” She responded not looking away from the bright screen.

“Is there any station out there?”

“NO, I don’t know. Why don’t you use your deductions to guess what’s outside.” She sounded annoyed. Me too was irritated by the rest state of the train. I mean if my body develops affinity to sleep in moving train then it’s impossible to sleep in the rest state of the train. Train moved a little. Yes, a relief, I thought to myself. It caught some speed. Ever since, my holidays started, I decided to rest during whole holidays. And sleep is one of the things which I lacked during my school days. But after sometime, the train stopped again. It becomes more maddening as the train stops more frequently. I looked up in a hope to find a fairy for myself which can help me sleep. Shivani was still stuck to her phone. After half an hour, train accelerated again. My eyes were tired. All the information from my head started to ooze out, making my head light.

Then I heard a crackling voice, something like ‘CRUNCH’. I looked up to find that voice which was keeping me from sleeping. It was Shivani eating chips. “For God’s sake can’t you stay quiet” I pleaded.

“Duh! I’m hungry, so” she said CRUNCH and took another piece.

“I’m tired, please keep your voice low. I only desire a peaceful night.”

“No,” she said gleefully “I want a companion for the night. Since, you are beside me, I choose you” pointed her finger towards me.

“I’m not a Pokémon to be chosen. Ask Clara she is your friend” I cried.

“Why? You are not?”

“I never talked to you, I hardly talk to girls and I don’t know you.”

“So what Ray, you are doing it right now and FYI you are going quite well. Look it will be better if you accept as your friend else I’ll keep eating these chips with the same loud sound.”

CRUNCH

“Okay! Just keep your voice low.”

She extended the packet to me. I took a handful amount to accompany her. We talked till 5 am in the morning. She left for the washroom. I checked my phone. The battery was already at 50% and still a long way to go.

Suddenly, nowhere from earth I heard a scream. The screaming continued. I recognized that voice was of Shivani. For a moment I took it as I imagined it all by myself, but her cries become more and more painful to ears. I went on the same way to reach her. She was on her knees on the floor near the sink. Tears were flooding from her eyes. Her shivering hand was pointing to something nearer to the door. As I reached there, I gasped breathe of mine. There was laying a half torn dead body. Blood was coming out from the torn vessels. It was a leg shaking scene out there. Only left side of the body was present at the very moment. The body was torn from the middle to the neck. Only the corpse’s head was in complete shape, but drenched completely in blood. I brought my senses back to life and reached for Shivani’s help. I brought her back to the compartment. I pulled the emergency brakes, the train stopped at nearby station, Toya (Toya is the city in Japan which lies between the route of Tokyo and Sapporo).

After couple of hours, people gathered around near the lavatory to have a glimpse of the tragedy.

“No one will touch anything near the dead body,” the Ticket Conductor (Hiroshi Riega) stated. “I need to have a talk with the driver and the police are on their way.”

The crowd grew more and more. I got the chance to have a closer look at the dead body. The corpse’s head was hanging from the very edge of the entrance of the train. I recognized the face, it was Mr. Izuki Kure the person sitting on seat no. 31. I noticed red marks on the skin of wrist region. With stealth I pulled the pants of the victim to check the corpse’s only leg and it too had red marks. Yes it is a murder, I thought to myself. All those red marks were not present yesterday when we were playing cards with him. Something had happened during the night that had leaded him to his death. I tried to gain another signs but not able to reach any conclusions.

Later, I returned to our compartment there I checked the victim’s unfinished food tray. I took my time to examine it. Then something hit me hard, as I tried to remember something of the previous night.

“Yes, it has to be that person!” I muttered. Until now everyone was up. Shivani was still sobbing, Clara was accompanying her. Sunny and Fores were sitting silently. I was thinking hard to prove the truth.

“Don’t you dare to bring your theory here” Fores whispered into my ear, somehow he read my mind what I was actually thinking. I sat beside him and said, “Sorry, but I can’t submit myself to you. The truth has to be revealed and I will bring justice to Mr. Izuki and her wife Mrs. Sora,” getting ready to stand up again I saw something which can be used to confirm the crime. The woman who was sitting on seat no. 24 (Suzume Iseri) yes the odd one. Her bag had no belt which is used to carry the bag over the shoulder. But, the corpse was in two halves. To tear a human body to this extent can only be done by the train’s force against him. I pulled out my mobile and checked something which required internet, so I had to sacrifice my remaining 47% battery.

As I was trying to connect the unsolved points which each other, I noticed the crowd started to clear off, which meant Japan police had arrived. “Who was the first to see the corpse?” sound came from near to the door. Footsteps came closer and closer to us. “Who was the first to…” the inspector was interrupted by my action of raising hand.

“But people told me, it was a girl’s scream that they heard very first in the morning.”

“We both saw the corpse.” I said pointing to Shivani.

“Then, I have to take words from both of you” he said, taking a notepad and pen from the inner side of his coat. ”While, the girl takes her time to recover, can I have a word with you young man?”

“Yeah, sure” I said, as it can be chance to explain my reasoning to him.

“Let start, so what is your name?”

“Ray, Ray Mase.”

“When you saw the corpse, estimated time is desirable.”

“About 5:30, near the door exactly in the same condition as it is now.”

“Do you know the victim?”

“Yes, he too was travelling with us to Sapporo, started from Tokyo central.”

He continued to ask a few more questions. After writing my each spoken word in his pocket notepad, he said “Well, I must say you are a good observer. Your information satisfies us. So, I don’t think inquiry of the girl is necessary any longer as she was with you all along.”

We returned back to the compartment, yes this could be my chance. ”Sir, there is something else I must tell you,” I said from his behind. ”He was cruelly killed. Neither a man nor an animal could do this. It was the train’s own force that the murderer used against Mr. Izuki.”

“Whoa... Hey kid, you are going too far from the conclusion, why don’t you enjoy your journey while my men take care of the case.”

“You should at least listen to my reasoning, I…”

“Enough! Shut up!” he snarled loudly. ”We got no time to listen to a teenager’s story. Keep your leg out of the line. Else I’ll take you in charge for interfering between my investigations.”

Clara, Shivani, Fores and Sunny came out from the compartment and reached us in no time. “Is there any problem officer?” Sunny asked. “You might assist me to teach some manners to your friend, like keeping his nose away from other’s business” Inspector said. “You!” Fores said throwing an angry look on me. “I think there is misunderstanding Mr. Itsuki Minamoto,” I sighed. “You may have mistaken my identity. You, as chief investigator of this case have a full right to know me.”

“Stop it! You will bring yourself trouble” Shivani said.

“Ray, leave it.” Fores said, showing some signs of sympathy still existed inside of him. It is because, he hates me for my ‘full of yourself’ attitude, still we are best friends. I had told him my every single secret and he had helped me in a few occasions to keep my identity a concealed.

The Inspector Mr. Itsuki called his constable inside the compartment. “I had no intentions of spoiling your investigations” I protested. ”I want you to know the identity of the murderer.”

“We can figure this out at the Police Head Quarters.”

“Then you should inform Mr. Megure that I’m coming, I hope he has not retired from the position of Police Superintendent.”

He was taken aback a little. “How…you know about him?” he staggered. “Let me see, if I have still the tracks of what happened eight months ago. Yes,” I clapped my hands in excitement. “It was the case about the serial killer group who tried bringing down poor Tokyo’s one seventh population to death, by distributing cyanide in the fertiliser bags. I had rarely noticed the unexpected increase in death rate if your superintendent hadn’t sought for my help.”

“How do you know all this, WHO ARE YOU?” said Mr. Itsuki in his “too - much” loud voice. The constable arrived, looking puzzled at the expressions of his senior. “Arrest him Hotaru, he is a spy” Mr. Itsuki cried. Hotaru Hara, the constable paced towards me. “Isn’t it strange, a foreigner knows all the classified information which is meant to kept secret between the officials only? Don’t you want to know to where I belong or my true identity?” I said without any hesitation of being on the edge to get arrested by a foreign police. “Who the hell are you?” he cried again. Still hiding a small piece of smile under my face and looked up to give the surroundings a serious feeling and said,

“I AM ISAMY.”

“You can’t be, he …”said Mr. Itsuki in more gobsmacked tone. “You are just a boy pretending to be him, you can’t be…”

“I say again, I am Isamy who caught Chiara (the bald guy back from the news about attempting to blow up Tokyo tower)”

“But why should I believe you” screamed Mr. Itsuki.

“Mr. Itsuki, I suppose you are quite aware of the news around yourself. Fifth Nov, the Terrace murder case. Twenty second of the same month a couple found in the jungle, without any clue and the girl’s father had planted all. Twentieth Nov, the first appearance of Ciara, a bomb blast in Hokkaido. Used RDX and 555 timer IC trick to accomplish his mission. Twenty fifth Nov, Ciara delayed his mission due to earthquake. Thirtieth Nov, Ciara’s companion got caught” I paused for a breath.

“Yes. I’m ISAMY,” I said again. “The one who solved all those cases. I can prove it, if you want to. But now this murder is more important than verifying my identity. Shall we pace towards our compartment”

“Yes-s, we can proceed” he said looking fulfilled with the data I provided above. Both the inspector and constable walked two foot ahead of us. “You are Isamy; you can’t be serious, are you?” Sunny whispered. The other two girls came closer to have an answer from me. “I will explain all this later; our first concern is the killer.”

We reached our compartment. No one spoke a word. Everyone was sitting quiet and looking at us. “Did you know, who did this to my husband, inspector?” asked Mrs. Sora.

“Well, we are in lead and I might feel comfortable to say that the culprit will be caught soon” replied Mr. Itsuki.

“I will take care of the rest from here Mr. Itsuki” I said. The patience inside me was gone. A strong will had forced me to come forward and caught the culprit.

“Yes” said Mr. Itsuki.

I clapped my hands together in eagerness to conclude all my reasoning. “Let me start explaining from the very beginning. When the train stopped twice at night, it happened at that time; around 2:30 in the morning. I checked this train’s route map and I found at 2:30 around the train moves in the outskirts of Sendai region (Sendai is the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture, Japan which lies between the route of Tokyo and Sapporo). If you send a search team there you will certainly find the other half of Mr. Izuki hanging from the signal pole or electricity pole.”

“What, hanging from signal pole!” exclaimed all of them.

“Yes, now allow me to explain. When you tie one hand and leg of the same side of the body to the handle of the entrance of the train and other side of the body to something rigid like the signal pole with help of a very strong rope or a belt like used in luggage bags used to carry them over shoulder, this can be fulfilled.”

“Bu"but you mean someone brought the body to the entrance and tied him to the handle.”

“Yes, someone did bring the body here and tied it to the entrance with the help of victims own belt, that was why no belt was found on his body, as it was already thrown after brutally killing Mr. Izuki.”

“You mean to say someone did all whatever you told us and he allowed the culprit to do so. Did that guy had a death wish?” asked the constable, Mr.Hayato.

“Obviously no, I already took that matter in within my inferences; it confirms that Mr. Izuki was asleep”

“No, one is that asleep” interrupted Mr. Sora.

“Because he was drugged the last night, that was why it was easier for the culprit to pull the body without any difficulties and the belt tied to Mr. Izuki was by a skill full person.”

“How can you say that?” Sunny interrupted me.

“Don’t you see” I said throwing exclaiming look on everyone’s face. They all stood clueless. “Mr. Izuki was 6 feet tall plus the extra height of train from the ground level. The culprit required to climb more than 8 feet on the pole to keep Mr. Izuki’s body in standing position to avoid any error in slicing the whole body into two halves. The one who could do that with ease was none other than you.”

I stretched the last word “you” and pointed my finger to the woman seating on seat no. 24. ”Ms. Suzume Iseri” I said loudly, to confirm everyone the culprit was her, in case it is unclear to any.

“Me!” she screamed. “No, you can’t blame me. You don’t have any proof, have you?” Her voice was loud enough to reach above 120 decibels.

“Yes, I have many” I glared. My eyes shone. “It was from the beginning when I first saw the corpse with red marks on his wrist, it was absolute that something tight had been tied to him, and the don’t forget how you picked up Mr. Izuki’s plate by mistake, I wonder you put sleeping pills at that time.”

“These all are your some fancy assumptions, unfortunately which couldn’t be proved.”

“Do you think I will blame someone without any concrete proof?” I smiled and she seemed to be in her worst shocked state. ”May I ask you, what happened to your bag?”

“My bag, there is nothing wrong with it.”

“Liar! Where is the belt of the bag? Don’t say it was not there from the beginning, try to remember me. I was the one who took your bag to your seat. Where is it now? Still hanging from the pole with the other part of the corpse?”

The constable peeped down to check her bag. “Yes, it is not here” cried the constable. She shivered as the inspector glared at her.

“Say it, and give my reasoning a huge wave of pleasure. I know it was hatred of love, isn’t it?” She clapped her hands to her mouth. “How do you know?” she said. “You showed us, the way you killed him was inhuman. There was too much hatred for him, or I say for the woman who was sobbing for him.” Mrs. Sora Kure looked up at me then shifted her sight to Ms. Suzume and said “ME!”, “Yes you, you and your husband were spending your happy moment together. Ms. Suzume was jealous. She had already plotted all this a long time ago, she wanted you to suffer by looking at his half torn corpse, she wanted to kill you from insides” I conveyed my message.

“ENOUGH” Suzume screamed, tears were rolling down from her eyes. “I did it, I wanted her to feel the same when you took him away from me and”

“You killed Izuki, you b***h” screamed Sora and grasped Suzume’s hair. It was a good cat fight to until both women were separated by the police and support of other people.

Inspector Itsuki took the Suzume in charge, and took away the corpse with him. Sora continued with us on train as her home was in Sapporo. The air was numb; no one seemed to be in a cheerful mood except me and inspector Itsuki. Later, at the Toya station, “Thank you Isamy, it was honourable to work with you. And I apologize for my previous behaviour.”

“It’s alright sir, a very few people came to know about my true identity every day,” I replied. “And please keep it a secret. I don’t want to lose my privacy.”

“For sure, and again thank you boy” he said and signalled the station master who signalled the guard who signalled the driver to start the engine, everybody took their seats like children in Kindergarten after recess.

I was still standing at the door; the gentle evening breeze blew over my face taking away all the misery. The dried blood marks were gleaming under golden sun’s light. But at that moment, there was another case waiting for me inside: how to define my act before my friends as Isamy?

First of all, the hunger was killing me from inside. I headed to pantry car to buy some snacks. I bought a milk shake and four potatoes chips packet for me and my friends. On the way back to compartment, I thought hard to come up with any excuse to put my friends’ question down. I already knew huge sac of question will be thrown at me the moment I will enter into the compartment. I took my first step inside the compartment.

“Before, everyone comes up with silly questions, about my identity I want to assure everyone that I’m Ray Mase, not Isamy.” I announced my arrival.

“Don’t brag! We know what you said to those Inspectors, don’t try to befool us” Sunny said. I smiled back at him and said, “It was nothing but a little misunderstanding which I created for the police, so that they could believe the hypothesis of this teenager. I was reading about Isamy, and one of the Japanese police force has leaked the top-secret thing to media. You know it all takes only a few kilobytes to find about Isamy and his cases on Google.”

“But, all those deductions everything you told Mr. Itsuki, was wrong?” Clara said.

“No, Not at all. Every bit is true. I only had to lend Isamy’s identity to convey my message to the police force” I said.

“You were absent for like about an hour, where were you?” Shivani said. It was shocking, because I thought she had not recovered. “Even your phone is switched off when we tried to call you.”

“That’s because I forget to turn off internet on my mob, and it sucked all the battery. And my absence would be justified by these chips packets,” I shook the packets in the air. “I was in pantry car to get me some food.”

“If everything is over can I have one of those chips packet?” Fores asked, he saved me again.

Journey continued and I noticed that Shivani still not spoken a single word afterwards. Maybe it was the impact of the half-torn corpse I guessed so. I wanted to share this case with someone else. I took my phone out, but it was dead. After checking the route map I forgot to turn off the mobile data that was the reason behind the dead battery. I tried to turn it on but of no use.

“Here use mine” someone slid a phone towards me. I looked up; it was Shivani maybe she rejoiced. I hesitated a little but she forced me. At last, I left the compartment to make call. I called the ‘someone special’ and told him about the case. Later, I returned I handed the phone back to her, she was looking normal now-I supposed. Due to five hour delay we had to spend another night in the train. After supper, Shivani and I took upper berth again, everyone was tired. I slept on my berth, instantly it was a very pleasant sleep but at 00:50 when everyone else was sleeping Shivani woke me up, due to incomplete sleep of the last night I was annoyed by her. Either this girl ever sleeps or not. “Hey, can you please come with me to the washroom” she hissed.

“But…” I tried to protect my valuable sleep.

“I want you to come by me” she pleaded.

“Fine!” I said a little bit annoyed. Maybe she needs more time to recover from the incident, I thought so. She was walking close to me. “Wait here” she said and entered in the washroom. For a moment I thought to leave her alone there. But I remember her cute face and she will never forgive me for what I did. She reappeared straightening her clothes then she said “I know you are the real Isamy”. A thunder struck me from nowhere. I wondered how my lie didn’t work on her.

“Don’t try to hide, the way you deduce and your ‘full of yourself’ attitude I can bet you are Isamy” She said.

“Shivani,” I took a moment to think for an excuse. “It can’t be me, I know you are kidding. How can't I be him?”

“Stop lying! I know it is you, confess by yourself.”

“You don’t have a proof, do you?”

“Indeed yes, here” she took her mobile phone out and showed me a recorded voice clip. Another thunder struck me. This girl recorded my conversation with the one I talked before, that was why she insisted me to take her phone. How could this simple trick pass unnoticed from me. She played the voice clip which said:

“It’s me Isamy; I will send you all the details of this case to you. Unfortunately, I had to reveal                 my true identity on the face of my friends, but I handled the situation. The reason to visit Japan                 is only to spend a good time and have some sleep, but those brutal human crimes are              unpardonable” my voice said.

“I very well understood your circumstances, but we both agreed that you should get a break. Isamy you deserve a break. Now, from your current actions it is deducible that Isamy is in Japan. Keep yourself        low and search more about Riquasha as much as possible” the other voice said.

The clip ended with a beep.

She had the proof. I hung my head low to avoid eye contact. “Before you come up with any new idea to fool me around, I want to hear it from you” she said.

“To disclose my identity?” I snarled.

“No.” she said, still looking at me. I hate when someone watches me for a long period of time, maybe everyone hates that. She put her phone back in her pocket, still waiting for my answer. I tried to dodge her and moved towards the compartment.

“Don’t you even dare to” she said angrily.

“Yes, I’m Isamy” I roared again. I hurried towards the compartment to avoid any further investigation.

“Wait,” she called. “You can’t leave me alone here”. I was surprised, I thought she brought me here to reveal my identity by making an excuse of washroom but indeed her real motive was the “washroom”.

She reached me and held me hand. I didn’t draw my hand back, but it was quite awkward. I was examining my feet until we reached our compartment. I climbed to the top berth and tried to figure out whatever happened today, would may not bring any trouble.

“Shivani” I called her.

“Yes” she said adjusting her pillow.

“You will not…”

“No, Ray. I will not, only between you and me. There are a lot of questions in my mind like, who was the person on phone, why you need to keep yourself a secret and what the hell is Riquasha. I should save them for another night.”
