You

You

A Poem by Matthew Paul
"

A million thank yous

"

You saved me

Once dwelling upon a shady trail

Ways to sway many, so many downward facing

You chased me

Comfortably slipping to illness

Miss understanding myself

You taught me

You showed me reason from my darkness

Gave me strength to slip from deaths hands

You held me

You exercised my disillusions

Gave me sanctity and direction

You are amazing

Never shall I fade from you

Never shall something change the way I feel.

We've all experienced our own trials of darkness and in most cases there is someone who helps us through it. What you've written here really captures the gravity of this persons influence in all cases. Bravo, I look forward to reading more of your work.

What a wonderful way to be thankful. This was really well written. I can tell by every perfect line, every metaphor how much this person helped you. How much it meant to you. The ending was beautiful as well. Thank YOU for sharing.
