Delicate Fire

Delicate Fire

A Poem by Matthew Paul

The flame of eternity flickers upon its wax substance

Glowing in the darkness, it's radiants illuminates

Life's delicate fire staggers, blows and fluctuates

Jolting in chaotic, whimsical uncertainty

Hope glows a warmth as souls so contrary seek integral ends

Two lives connected, one love displayed

This candle, this stage, this ripening stand

Equals in flesh, conjoined in sweet and such tender accord

Don't cry for the hollow, don't worry for the lost

Sorrow wont end the drought, fear wont bring the rain

Pain is only to be a hearts disservice, and minds affliction

Creation burns within loves furness, Estranged once, watch days return

Higher tides in due time, fast expiring silence

Covenant fate, composed we stand knowing common grace

Adhered by our very essence

Forever begins today.

Our Forever

"Life's delicate fire staggers, blows and fluctuates

and

"Don't cry for the hollow, don't worry for the lost

these two exerpts strike home with me...

This is a wonderful poem, Matthew, you are amazing, to say the least...

I like how this poem could apply to humanity as a whole or to two people, it could be a poem about any mans struggle to stand up and be know as an individual while still staying unified with the whole, or it could represnt two people, in love, struggling for that unity, that One-ness, that all of us crave, and few of us are willing to fight for.

I love this poem, ill have to say its one fo my favourites...
