Ode to the Mighty Potato

Ode to the Mighty Potato

A Poem by Isa Ruffatti
"

This was for a school assignment and we had to write an ode about random stuff. I, as you can see in the title, got a potato. Let's see how much I can glorify a potato, shall we?

"
How do I begin to describe potatoes?
Potatoes are flawless
Sporting an unsullied tan
Standing as daintily as a ballerina
On the far corner of the kitchen

O Mighty Potato!
Your creamy taste feeds my starved soul
O Mighty Potato!
The honourable ancestor of French Fries and Soufflés
Potato Chips too
O Mighty Potato!
Desired by the Incas
The Spaniards, and the Irish
The people of Jamestown
Even France, Judge of Food
Admires you
O Mighty Potato!
There's more than just a beautiful potato
In front of me
A perfectly cultured potato
A wondrous creation of Life
In front of me.
