Ode to the World (15)A Poem by Isa RuffattiUnder construction...How brilliant a world Diversity is the key A bright golden key To open up the world So much more to see Than can ever be perceived To be or not to be A wise bard of olden days used to say, sing and shout Just as this seems quite simple It is not, it is not! only to be uncovered more to see than meets the eye Such as the world This brilliant stupid world Crawling back from the shadows It finds the light, o the bright shining light! As light gives way to darkness Brave men and women will fight For the sake of freedom And for all that is good Everything we stand for Till we emerge victorious at last! When a mystery puzzles many How we try to uncover it! A missing link, something not quite right Must be aliens from outer space No way to silence these folks There is so much that we don't know Are aliens real? Good question No one knows the answer Curiousity killed the cat But it does so much more It creates progress Forests, rivers, mesas lakes, deserts, and so much more Each with its own little town Sloths peer lazily at the ground below Elephants go on constant odysseys Monkeys steal for fun A bird sings a note or two A river rushes past A person walks by Barely noticing How maginificent this world of ours is every stone, every tree every animal, and even the blue sky above What makes the Earth magnificent is not its people not its animals or plants What makes Earth magnificent is Life the greatest miracle of all
