Give me back my words!

Give me back my words!

A Poem by Isa Ruffatti

Demon! Wretch!

Return mine lost words!

Return what so cruelly have thou taken

Lost!

Forever gone and just not reachable

Perfect words, oh so lost

Lost!

Folly of time this hath been

I´m sure

Turn back the clock!

Turn back the clock!

Reverse my folly

Undo my great mistake

Time, I defy thee!

Such perfect words hath thou taken

I weep and weep and weep

Why?

Give me back my reason

I cannot write again

If you do not give me back my words

I beg thee

I never again shall write

I swear on all the heavens!

Never had I written as great as the words thou hast stolen

I am lost!

Please give me back those seconds

Only that and nothing more

I implore thee

As meaningless as it might seem to thee

It is a great thing for me

Give me back my words!

Give me back those seconds

Oh cursed technology!

Now do I prefer the pen and ink

To thy wretchedness and cruelty

Times of greatest anger, fury and nothing more

I am sure

Have made me write these words

But I beg thee

Give me back my words!
