Beauty

Beauty

A Poem by Isa Ruffatti

Look around you as you sink
Into deeper despair
Over what you do not possess
and never shall
You don´t have those eyes
that so flatter men
You have no hair
to be proud of
As the Titanic you sink
even deeper still
Swim, Time has still not fled
Beauty is not all there is
Yet it remains
possessing humanity
pushing limits
Hurling us into an abyss
Oh greedy beauty!
Have mercy upon us!
For we, merely mortals
Fate´s playthings
Have a meager say
in what is to come
